CAMP DIRECTORS

It is wonderful for our family to see the legacy continue and to see that the camp directors, Tom and Scott, continue to make KenMont a first class camp that makes the children happy and the parents confident that they have chosen the right camp.

ANN & JEFF

Tom and Scott are the consummate camp directors … and the KenMont and KenWood dynamic duo! They are the hands-on, involved in everything, always available when you need them, patient and caring camp directors. It is their dedicated leadership and selfless attitude that gives camp its special feeling.

Tom & Scott – Your Partners in Parenting

We understand how important it is to choose the right camp for your child. At KenMont and KenWood we offer an environment that nurtures development of individual character, self confidence and the learning of new skills.

As a camp family, we join hands not only with our campers and staff, but with the families of our campers as well. There is a very special feeling of warmth and caring at KenMont and KenWood that permeates throughout our camps and creates an environment that becomes a true home away from home for all our campers.

Our exceptional attention to detail allows us to focus on the individual needs of each of our campers, allowing them to achieve social success and make wonderful new friendships that last a lifetime. The enthusiasm, spirit and magic that makes camp so special is something that evolves by having a dedicated and talented leadership team working with us year round with a commitment to make each summer better than the last.

Our camps are a place where children can experience the best summers of their lives. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to discuss with you and your family what makes KenMont and KenWood Camps so special.

Sincerely,
Tom & Scott
Directors

I am so proud to be a Director of KenMont and KenWood Camps and to be a part of the history of this special place! Camp has been the center of my world for over 20 years. I’ve worked as a counselor, Athletic Director, Head Counselor, Staff Recruiter, Associate Director and now Director. KMKW holds a very special place in my heart.

Summer days give me the opportunity to indulge my love of “hoops” as well as taking part in waterfront activities, climbing and making up fun dishes in our cooking program. More than anything, I love forming great relationships with our campers and parents as well as helping campers create bonds with their peers.

Free time away from camp is spent with my wife Michele (camp’s Administrative Director) and our children Jake and Olivia (both veteran campers). We enjoy watching Jake try all different kinds of adventure and sports activities. Olivia is an artist and a gymnast who loves to perform. When not at camp, I spend as much time as possible with my family, traveling and enjoying sports.

Want to talk camp … or hoops?

REACH OUT TO DIRECTOR TOM TROCHE

Yes! Let’s talk

For as long as I can remember (literally), camp has been home to me. My father was the Owner/Director of Pine Brook Day Camp in Rockland County, New York and I spent over 10 years as a camper, beginning when I was three years old. Prior to returning to Pine Brook as a staff member, I spent six amazing summers at sleep-away camp in Upstate New York. As a camper and counselor, I loved all aspects of camp life, from swimming and sports activities to crafts and performing arts. One of my greatest thrills was being chosen to be a Color War General!

I enjoy skateboarding, snowboarding, stand up paddle boarding, volleyball and camping, in addition to making sure I have tons of time at the end of the day for my wife, Deborah and our two sons, Ethan and Adam (who all share in making camp our second home).

Between my younger camp days and my arrival at KMKW, I was the Director of Professional Development at the American Camp Association, New York and New Jersey (ACA). I was responsible for conferences and developing new educational initiatives for Camp Directors and their staff. This included the Tri-State Camp Conference, the largest annual gathering of camp professionals in the world.

What do you want to know about camp … or skateboarding?

SPEAK TO DIRECTOR SCOTT ROTHSCHILD

The directors and staff couldn’t be more terrific — they are responsible, responsive and caring.
